The law on family foundation proceeded in the lower house of Polish parliament

23 November 2022 the law on family foundation, drafted in the government, has been introduced to the lower house of Polish parliament (Sejm). As the Bill no 2798, it has been sent to the first reading.

After one and a half year of legislative process at the governmental level, the law proposal on family foundation has been sent to the lower house of Polish parliament (Sejm). It is proceeded as a governmental proposal and named Bill no 2798. The legislative process can be traced here. The Bill has been sent to the first reading at a plenary session, and not at one of parliamentary Committees. The first reading will take place not earlier than at the Sejm’s session in the half of December 2022, or even in the next year 2023. Therefore, there is a high chance that the new law on family foundation will be passed in the first half of 2023. The current version of the Bill corresponds with the latest version of the governmental proposal of 28 October 2022. In next posts we will discuss major regulatory issues concerning this Bill.
